DATA PRIVACY NOTICE

This Privacy Notice explains the types of personal data I may collect about you when you interact with me. It also explains how I store and handle that data, and keep it safe.

  1. Who I AM and what I do

Carter Noble Independent Safeguarding (trading as A Noble) is a limited company that delivers a range of services and sector-based communities. This includes, but is not limited to, safeguarding support for schools and businesses and training courses across my areas of expertise which includes safeguarding at all levels and court skills for social workers and other professionals.

  1. Why I process data

Carter Noble (A Noble) processes data so that I can conduct my business as described above. I do not use your data for any other purpose.

  1. Legal bases for processing your data including any explanation of legitimate interests

The law on data protection sets out a number of different reasons for which a business may collect and process your personal data. I process data to: 

(a) Comply with my contractual obligations – both in delivering my contracts and in preparing to enter a contract. This is in respect both of those I supply services to and those I engage to help me provide my services

(b) ensure that I fulfil all of my legal obligations; for example, I retain data for the required period for HMRC accounting regulations

(c) In particular circumstances, I require your data to pursue my legitimate interests in a way which might reasonably be expected as part of running my business and which does not materially impact your rights, freedom or the interests of the data subject. In some cases, after a contract period I retain some data so that I can continue business relationships over longer periods.

(d) With your consent for example when you sign up to receive emails or other information

Carter Noble (A Noble) collects data at the point that a client or customer makes contact and throughout the contract period. This may be via telephone, email or though a contact form on the website.

  • Limited financial information so receive some payments and so that I can pay my suppliers
  • I do not collect any special category data
  1. WEBSITE AND THIRD-PARTY LINKS

My website includes links to third-party websites. If you access other websites using the links provided, the operators of these websites may collect information from you which will be used by them in accordance with their own privacy policies, which may differ from mine. Therefore, if you use these links to leave my site and visit websites operated by third parties, I cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information that you provide to them. Please check these policies before you submit any personal data to these websites.

antonianoble.com website uses Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. I do this to find out such things as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way that does not directly identify anyone. I do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting my website.

  1. SOCIAL MEDIA

Information or comment you post or disclose on social media platforms (for example, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, or other social media applications) is public and will be treated as such for the purposes of this notice and my use of that data. I cannot control the use of information disclosed in such platforms. You should always take care and exercise caution when posting or disclosing information in public spaces; this includes personal information or data. Content posted in Antonia Noble’s social media pages, including advice and opinions, represents the views of the individuals who post that content and such individuals bear sole and exclusive responsibility for the posting of that content. I does not necessarily endorse, support, verify, or agree with any content posted on my social media pages and forums.

  1. SOCIAL MEDIA WIDGETS

antonianoble.com website includes social media widgets, such as the Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter buttons and widgets, such as the “Share” button. Social Media widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on my website. Your interactions with these widgets are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing them. These widgets may collect (a) your IP address, (b) which A Noble webpage you are visiting, and (c) may set a cookie to enable the feature to function properly. Carter Noble advises anyone using these widgets to be aware of the privacy notices related to each widget.

  1. How I use your personal data

I process data for limited reasons; put simply, to run the business. So this might be to contact a client via email or by telephone. I do not use data except for this core purpose (except where I have given you the choice in respect of cookies on my website).

I also use information specifically for these reasons:

  •         Provide Products and Services. I will use your information to provide products and services to you
  •         Understand and improve my products. I will perform research and analysis about your use of, or interest in, my products, services, or content, or products, services or content offered by others. I do this to help make my products better and to develop new products. 
  •         Communicate with you. I may send you emails about new product features or other news about me or on topics I think would be relevant to you. You may opt-out of these at any time. 
  •         Responding to your requests. I will also use your information to respond to your questions or comments.

I may contact you to inform you about changes in my services, my service offering and other important service-related notices such as changes to the privacy policy or about security or fraud notices.

I may develop and display content and advertising tailored to your interests on my products and services on my site and on other sites;

I also may use your information to manage my business or perform functions as otherwise described to you at the time of collection.

  1. How long I keep your personal data

 

I retain data for no longer than is required – for example for finance information I may retain data for 6 years after the end of the accounting period so that I comply with HMRC regulations. Carter Nobel retains limited information beyond the specific contract period for up to 15 years to ensure all documents are available if required by any court in any proceedings.

  1. HOW I KEEP YOUR DATA SAFE

I are aware of the need to maintain the correct and highest level security when processing your personal information. I have appropriate security measures in place to prevent personal information from being accidentally lost, or used or accessed in an unauthorised way.

I take the following steps to maintain the security of your personal information:

  • I keep all of your information in systems that are encrypted, secure and fully backed up at all times – in real time,
  • I limit access to your personal information to those who have a genuine business need to know it.
  • I use strong password protected systems and deploy two-factor identification in those areas that allow this
  • I maintain firewalls and anti-virus software
  • Any data which is accessed off site or on a mobile device is kept locked when not in use and never left unattended

I am committed to being an environmentally aware company. As such I run a paperless office – papers are not retained unless they are required to be. This would not include any information which contains personal identifiable data.

I also have procedures in place to deal with any suspected data security breach. I will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected data security breach where I are legally required to do so.

  1. Who I share your data with

I sometimes share your personal data with trusted third parties which act only on my instruction (known as “data processors”). 

Data processors might be, for example, those companies who process or store data for me:

I will share your information in the following ways

With third-party service providers, agents, or contractors.  I use other companies, agents or contractors (“Service Providers”) to perform services on my behalf or to assist me with providing services to you. For example, I may engage Service Providers to process credit card transactions or other payment methods.  Or, I may engage Service Providers to provide services such as marketing, advertising, communications, infrastructure and IT services, to provide customer service, to collect debts, and to analyse and enhance data (including data about users’ interactions with my service).

These Service Providers may have access to your personal or other information in order to provide these functions. In addition, some of the information I request may be collected by third-party providers on my behalf. I do not authorize them to use or disclose your personal information except in connection with providing their services.

Analytics: Specifically for analytics providers, I use Google Analytics Google Analytics which is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the use of my Service. This data is shared with other Google services. Google may use the collected data to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network.

You can opt-out of having made your activity on the Service available to Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The add-on prevents the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js, analytics.js, and dc.js) from sharing information with Google Analytics about visits activity. I may use third-party Service Providers to show advertisements, which may include targeted advertisements on a third-party site after you have visited my website.  I and the third-party service providers use cookies to inform, optimize, measure performance serve ads based on previous visits to my site. 

Please note at this time, I do not recognize automated browser signals regarding tracking mechanisms, which may include “do not track” instructions.

I work with Google AdSense & DoubleClick Cookie Google, as a third party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on my site. Google’s use of the DoubleClick cookie enables it and its partners to serve ads to my users based on their visit to my Service or other websites on the Internet. Payment Providers: I may provide paid products and/or services within the site. When I do, I use third-party services for payment processing (e.g. payment processors).  I will not store or collect your payment card details. That information is provided directly to my third-party payment processors whose use of your personal information is governed by their own privacy notice. The payment processors I work with adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of payment information.

  1. Where your data is processed

I do not routinely transfer data outside of the UK/EEA; I use servers based in the UK.

I may pass personal data such as your name and email address via other services providers that I use, for example to send communications via email.

Your personal data will remain in the EEA/UK or countries considered by the EU to have equivalent policies such as Jersey, Guernsey, Switzerland, New Zealand and Canada. Any companies based outside of these “adequate” countries, for example in the USA such as Microsoft or Apple, have certified up to date and valid Standard Contractual Clauses to protect the data and data subjects with equivalence to those protections afforded by the UK or EU.

The right to be provided with a copy of your personal data

The right to require me to correct any mistakes in your personal data

To be forgotten

The right to require me to delete your personal data—in certain situations

Restriction of processing

The right to require me to restrict processing of your personal data—in certain circumstances, eg if you contest the accuracy of the data

Data portability

The right to receive the personal data you provided to me, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and/or transmit that data to a third party—in certain situations

To object

The right to object:

—at any time to your personal data being processed for direct marketing (including profiling);

—in certain other situations to our continued processing of your personal data, eg processing carried out for the purpose of our legitimate interests

Not to be subject to automated individual decision-making

The right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing (including profiling) that produces legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affects you

Your right to withdraw consent

Whenever you have given me your consent to use your personal data, you have the right to change your mind at any time and withdraw that consent. You can do this by contacting antonia.noble@icloud.com

Where I rely on my legitimate interest

In cases where I are processing your personal data on the basis of my legitimate interest, you can ask me to stop for reasons connected to your individual situation. 

I will then stop processing your information unless I believe I have a legitimate overriding reason to continue processing.

You can opt out of marketing information at any time by “unsubscribing” from the mailing list (the option is at the end of every marketing email)

Checking your identity

To protect the confidentiality of your information, I will ask you to verify your identity before proceeding with any request you make under this Privacy Notice. 

Your right to contact the ICO

If you feel that your data has not been handled correctly, or you are unhappy with our response to any requests you have made to me regarding the use of your personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
